Carina Leagues Triathlon Club Triumphs at QLD Club Championships

Moreton Bay, QLD – October 6, 2024

The sun rose on a perfect day at Redcliffe, setting the stage for the 2024 Club Championships hosted by Round 2 of the Qld Tri Series at Moreton Bay. CLTC fielded a strong team across all age groups and race distances, with everyone determined to give their best for themselves and the club. The club's members showcased exceptional performances, with some securing spots on the podium while many new members experienced the thrill of racing in perfect conditions.

In the Medium Club category, Carina Leagues Triathlon Club (CLTC) was awarded the overall trophy.

President of Carina Leagues Triathlon Club, Leanne McGregor, expressed her excitement and pride in the club's achievement. “We went into the Club Championships with the goal to have as many of our members race as possible,” said Leanne. “After coming second last year, there was fire in our belly to come out on top."

“While we had some of our members on the podium, we also had a lot of new people racing, getting out there, and giving it a go, which was great to see on a day with such perfect conditions!” McGregor added.

Leanne emphasized that the club's success is a testament to the dedication of their volunteers and the broader community. “We’re a community-based triathlon club with amazing coaches and a broad range of age groups. Being a medium-sized club, we depend a lot on volunteers to help out,” she said. “We will be putting the prize money towards making our juniors' experience at States in Hervey Bay the best."

She extended her gratitude to the volunteers who made the event possible. “Volunteers are the heart and soul of our sport. She also thanked the Carina Leagues Club and Clem Jones Centre which provide support to our Club.”

This remarkable accomplishment underscores the hard work, perseverance, and community spirit of the Carina Leagues Triathlon Club. The club looks forward to building on this success and continuing to excel in future competitions.
